Q:

What is the Community Membership level?

A:

The Community Membership level is for any homeschooler that would love be able to join us for field trips, parties, dances, sports, clubs and round-table events.  While some of our Community Membership events will be open to all homeschoolers. Community members will have first dibs on limited space events and benefit from member pricing.

To attend co-op you must be a community member.  ALL Community Members will have first picks for classes in the co-op.

What we love about our community membership is if you have found something that works for you or you are not interested in the co-op experience we have a place for you! Full of extra curricular activities, meet up, parent inclusive events and our round tables.

Q:

What is the Parent-Led Co-Op? 

A:

A homeschool cooperative program (co-op) is an educational community of homeschooling families who gather together at allotted times for classes, community, and enrichment activities.  The goal is to build a community and lifelong friendships!

Parent-Led co-op is run by parents who teach classes, volunteer in leadership positions, and help with all aspects of running the community. Co-ops are a great opportunity for families to socialize and support one another as well as for students to learn and grow in community. Parents retain full responsibility for the education of their children and must fulfill state requirements for home education.

Family Homeschool Alliance, Inc.'s (FHA) co-op is designed to offer an affordable opportunity for families to join together and share talents and resources to assist and support one another in achieving mutual educational and enrichment goals by facilitating a once per week co-op. FHA’s leadership includes families from several Christian denominations and a variety of local churches.  Although we desire the salvation of all, we are not an evangelistic ministry and while classes can be taught from a Christian worldview, we leave specific doctrinal training to parents and churches. All homeschool families, from all backgrounds, are encouraged and welcome to join our community.  No statement of faith is required to join.

FHA’s co-op consists of a 34 week school year which is split into six units (3 units per semester) beginning in mid-August through the end of May. We enjoy taking periodic breaks every 5-6 weeks or so, including a 2 week break around Christmas. We serve Kindergarten through 12th grades and also provide preschool and nursery options for younger siblings.

Co-op families come together once a week to participate in regular classes, lunch, and other optional activities such as after school clubs. 

FHA operates as a true parent led co-op where our parents are our teachers. All parents are encouraged to teach a class, but if teaching is not your gift, there are plenty of other volunteer options.  A parent is required to be on campus the entire time your student(s) are present and are required to fill a specific number of volunteer hours.  Students will typically attend 3 classes between 9:00 am and noon and an optional fellowship lunch hour from noon-1pm. From 1-3pm there will be optional clubs available.  

As a co-op member, you will also have access to our community membership benefits.  These are fun activities outside of the normal class day for students including, but not limited to, holiday parties, field days, field trips, birthday celebrations, and more! 

In addition to student care, FHA desires to provide opportunities for parents to be supported and uplifted.

When a mom (or dad) is not serving during the co-op day, she/he is invited to relax in our "Parent Lounge" to fellowship and develop friendships with other like-minded parents. Outside of the co-op day, FHA will offer occasional round table discussions and facilitate other adult only events.

 

Q:

What is the Tutor-Led Hybrid Program?

A:

The Tutor-Led Hybrid Program meets twice a week for 4th-12th grades, one day virtually and one day in person. Our Kindergarten - 3rd grades meet once a week in person. The program is a drop-off program for students to enjoy classes with friends and tutors who teach, keep grades, and send home the work to do they days they aren't in class. The school year starts in Aug and ends in May with break every 5-6 weeks.

Parents are always welcome to volunteer in a classroom, the cleaning crew, planning events etc. Parent are also encouraged to be on our substitute list for when the need arises. We also encourage parents to come to our Parent Round tables!

How much does it cost? 

 

A:

For the school year 2024-2025

 Community Membership the cost per family is $75 for the year. This includes field trips, Clubs, Events, Etc.. May have an addional cost, but we do offer things that are free. You must be a Community Member to be apart of the Co-op or Hybrid Programs.

 

Parent-Led Co-op Program registration for the first child is $35, additional children are $10 each. There is a $425 annual family fee that is invoiced after the Community and Co-op registration are paid. That annual cost covers your entire family to take co-op classes. Classes may require an addtional supply fee and that will vary depeding on the class and supplies needed throughout the year.

 

Tutor-Led Hybrid Program registration is $175 per student. Students Kindergarden through 3rd grade are on a block schedule in peron on Thursday's only. The morning block 9am-12pm is $180 per month. The afternoon 1pm-3pm $120 per month. For 4th though 12th grades they can choose A la carte hour long classes that meet virtually on Wednesday and in person on Thursday each class if $75 per month. All classes are sunject to suppy fees.

What will the field trips consist of?

A:

Field trips will consist of things as simple as park meet ups, to museums, art galleries, historical sites, community held events like Safety Village and much more. We think it is important to get out and support our local community! So local, events will be top priority.

What are Round Tables?

A:

Round tables will be designed throughout the school year to focus on topics that would benefit from an in person conversation. To pick the minds, get ideas and feel inspired. It will be a night to refresh, enjoy, learn and connect with other homeschool parents.
